Meta AI Gains Planning, Scheduling and Task-Following Features Powered by Muse Spark 1.1
Meta says its Meta AI assistant, powered by the Muse Spark 1.1 model, can now plan, connect to your apps, and follow tasks through to the end.
What Meta announced
Meta said its Meta AI assistant, which powers the Meta AI app and meta.ai, is gaining a set of new features powered by a model the company calls Muse Spark 1.1. According to Meta Newsroom, the model is built to plan, work with a user's apps, and follow through on a task from start to finish, and Meta says those capabilities are what make the new features possible.
What the assistant can now do
Meta says Meta AI can now make plans and follow through on next steps without needing to be reminded. Examples the company gives include building a week-by-week training schedule for a first half marathon, scouting a marketplace for furniture that fits a stated budget and style, and finding restaurants and open calendar slots for a birthday dinner. Meta also says the assistant can give a daily briefing pulled from a user's calendar, flag scheduling conflicts, and set up standing tasks like a weekly meal plan or a recurring trends update. For research, Meta says the assistant can synthesize information from across the web and creator content in minutes, and can turn findings into slides on request.
Staying in control while it works
Meta says users do not have to wait for the assistant to finish a report, presentation or plan before weighing in: a person can tell it to shift focus, change the tone, or cut a section, and Meta says it will adjust on the spot. Meta also says everything the assistant creates, from training schedules to slide decks, is kept in one place so it can be revisited or shared later.
Rollout and what is not yet known
Meta says these features start rolling out today in select markets in the Meta AI app and meta.ai, with more countries and surfaces, including WhatsApp, planned in the coming weeks. Meta has not published any completion-rate, cost, or failure-rate data for how the assistant performs on these tasks, so how reliably it completes multi-step work in practice remains untested by outside reporting.
